As part of my coursework during my master’s degree at Savannah College of Art and Design, I worked on a project that encouraged us to experiment with animation in a truly unrestricted way. The assignment required us to use clear or black 15mm film and explore various techniques like scratching, painting, or anything else we could imagine to bring the medium to life. We then digitized the footage and used it to create an animation.
At the time, I was completely hooked on the song Es ist Abend by AnnenMayKantereit (and honestly, I still am). I decided to channel that inspiration into a music video. After editing the footage to fit the song, I added effects in Adobe After Effects and brought everything together in Adobe Premiere Pro to create the final piece.
