As part of my coursework during my master’s degree at Savannah College of Art and Design, I worked on a project that encouraged us to experiment with animation in a truly unrestricted way. The assignment required us to use clear or black 15mm film and explore various techniques like scratching, painting, or anything else we could imagine to bring the medium to life. We then digitized the footage and used it to create an animation.
After creating Es ist Abend, I became fascinated with syncing music to visuals I crafted intuitively, without listening to the track beforehand. My next project was set to Moments of Love by Art of Noise, where I leaned into its 80s psychedelic vibe, experimenting with effects in After Effects before finalizing everything in Premiere Pro.
